SVS Club wins maiden title

Chennai, July 17 (UNI) For the first time in its 113-year-old history, the the Suguna Vilasa Sabha (SVS Club) won the 'A'' division title in the Sumeru Soft TNBSA City league here.

The team comprising S H Kamaraj, A B Ashok Kumar, Yatheendaraj, R Loganathan and club champion Sunil Mathews, had an unbeaten record in all the league matches and won with a tally of 88 points.

They started with 4-1 win over Southern Railway (20 points).

Later, they defeated MCC 3-2 (15 points), TNBSA 3-2 (14 points), MBC 4-1 (19 points), before thrashing Madras United CLub 4-1 and securing 20 points in the last league match yesterday.

The victorious team members were felicitated by the Club for their achievements.
