Sujata Rajan's bail hearing extended till Tuesday

Mumbai, July 17 (UNI) Maharashtra Control for Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) Judge, Abhay Thipsay today extended further bail hearing of Sujata Rajan till Tuesday.

Earlier, last month Sujata had filed bail applications on the basis of merit. Whereby her counsel had pleaded that investigations on most charges have been completed and there was no need for further custody. Hence she should be released on bail.

Sujata, wife of gangster Chotta Rajan was arrested by the police last November after attempts to extort Rs 18 lakhs from a builder at Chembur and for possesion of unaccounted wealth.

She was charged under MCOCA Act, after the police recorded conversations between her (Sujata) and Rajan on matters pertaining to extortion and other havala transaction.
