SIMI sedition case hearing posted to July 20

Bahraich, Jul 17: The sedition case against Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) national president Shahid Badr Falahi and 11 others was today posted to July 20 for the next hearing.

The order was passed by Fast Track Court judge R C Pandey on an application filed by the prosecution.

Meanwhile, the judge expressed displeasure that the case number mentioned in the Government Order (GO) regarding withdrawal of the case did not pertain to SIMI.

The court observed that the government counsel had filed the application without getting into the detail of the case.

In 2001, the Kotwali police had lodged a case against Dr Falahi and 11 others after a SIMI seminar was held here.
