Shiv finishes tied 60th at Scottish Open
Loch Lomond, Scotland, July 17 (UNI) A horrendous front nine cost Shiv Kapur dearly as he carded a second successive one-over 72 to finish tied 60th after the final round of the 2.4 million pound Scottish Open here.
Shiv, who will now be seen in action at The Open Championship at Royal Liverpool later this week, ended his campaign with a four-day-total of one-over 285.
The only Indian left in contention, after both Jyoti Randhawa and Jeev Milkha Singh failed to make the cut, was completely out of sorts in his front nine as he could not conjure a single birdie but fumbled thrice to be three-over at the halfway mark.
Shiv went on damage control mode on his way back as he fired two birdies in his blemish free other nine. But the recovery could not prevent him from over-par for the second day in a row.
At the top, Sweden's Johan Edfors shot an inspirational final round of eight-under 63 to win the title after being six strokes behind third round leaders Thomas Bjorn of Denmark and Darren Clarke of Northern Ireland. He finished with a total of 13-under 271, two shots clear off English man Donald Luke and Argentine Andres Romero.
