Rupee opens weak by 9 paise at Rs 46.46/48 per USD
Mumbai, July 17: The Indian currency today opened weak by nine paise at Rs 46.46/48 per US dollar as compared to the previous close of Rs 46.37/38 per USD, a trader in the money market said.
The increase in crude oil prices is cited as a reason for the downfall of the rupee against USD.
In the mid-morning trade, the rupee traded at Rs 46.44/45 per USD.
Today, the Sensex also opened in the red by 41 points at 10,647 as compared to the previous close of 10,678 points.
