Rates of blue metal slashed: association

Chennai, July 17 (UNI) The Kancheepuram district Blue metal quarry lease holder welfare association today announced slashing of rates of blue metal, widely used in the construction industry.

After a meeting with the officials, the commissioner of Geology and Mines and the District Collector at the secretariat here, the association has come forward to supply blue metal at a reduced rate in Kancheepuram and Chennai districts.

According to the revised rates, one lorry load of 20mm blue metal would be sold at Rs 4,000, against the prevailing rate of Rs 5000 and more and 40mm at the rate of Rs 3200 against Rs 4,000 and above.
