Putin invited to be Chief Guest at 2006 Republic Day parade

St Petersburg, July 17 (UNI) Russian President Vladimir Putin is likely to be the chief guest at the January 26 Republic Day parade at Rajpath, New Delhi, next year.

Mr Putin was extended an invitation to this effect by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at their bilateral meeting here today, Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran told reporters.
