Prisoners on hunger strike in Aurangabad
Aurangabad, Bihar, Jul 17 (UNI) Prisoners of Aurangabad divisional jail today went on hunger strike in protest against alleged sub-standard food supply and absence of basic amenities in the jail.
Sub-divisional officer Arvind Kumar said talks with prisoners were on to address their problems.
He admitted that the administration was forced to accommodate 733 prisoners against the capacity of only 78 prisoners.
Meanwhile, waterlogging for the past several days and poor quality of food supplied by the jail administration had made their lives miserable, alleged the prisoners.
