President arrives in Bhopal on one-day visit

Bhopal, July 17 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam today arrived by a special aircraft at the Raja Bhoj airport here at around 1025 hrs.

He was received at the airport by Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, his cabinet colleagues and senior army officials.

After a brief rest, Dr Kalam drove straight for the Vidhan Sabha where he would address the state assembly at 1105 hrs..

This would be the first time in the history of Madhya Pradesh assembly when the President would address the House.

He will leave from the Vidhan Sabha for the airport at 1230 hrs from where he would leave for Jhabua district's Hatyadeli village via Indore. He would interact with tribal children and see development works and cultivation of jatropha at the village.

The President is scheduled to leave for Mumbai from there.
