Politicians' visit to Mumbai should not create tension: Pawar
Mumbai, July 17 (UNI) Union Agriculture Minister and NCP president Sharad Pawar today said politicians who are visiting the city against the backdrop of last week's serial bomb blasts should see to it that their presence should not create any tension or trouble.
''In a democratic country, everybody has the liberty to go anywhere and express views, but in doing so, a balanced approach should be maintained so that tension is not created due to any statements or speeches,'' Mr Pawar said, while replying to a query by reporters, in view of today's visit of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi here.
''The people of Mumbai have shown extreme tolerance and have started their routine work,'' the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader said, who was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra when 13 serial bomb blasts shook the metropolis on March 12, 1993.
On whether Shiv Sena-BJP is trying to revive its Hindutva plank, Mr Pawar said the country is not in a mood to take it.
