PM should probe Khurana's allegations against Sushma:Ram Babu

New Delhi, July 17 (UNI) Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ram Babu Sharma today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister Shivraj Patil to probe the allegations levelled by former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana against BJP leader Sushma Swaraj and former Home Minister L K Advani.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Sharma said the allegations levelled by Mr Khurana against Mrs Sushma Swaraj that she had links with the underworld and against Mr Advani that he had compromised national security during his tenure ''are serious in nature and cannot be brushed aside''.

He said what was all the more shocking was that Mr Khurana had alleged strong links between Mrs Sushma Swaraj and Romesh Sharma who has been in jail for last eight years on several charges, including having links with the underworld. All this, he said, had put the senior BJP leader, who also served as chief minister of Delhi for three months, under cloud.

Mr Sharma also asked for a probe into allegations that the IC 814 Indian airlines aircraft that was hijacked and taken to Kandahar in Afghanistan was allowed to take off from India on verbal orders by someone in the Home Ministry.

Mr Sharma also demanded the release of white paper on Romesh Sharma, prepared by a Joint Investigating team comprising officials from the Central Bureau Of Investigation, Delhi Police, Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax, at the time of NDA Government.
