Pakistan cricket being run by 'mini-Musharrafs': Imran Khan

London, July 17 (UNI) Lashing out at the cricket administrators in Pakistan, former captain Imran Khan said the game is being run by ''mini-Musharrafs'', who are not accountable for their dictatorial running of the sport.

''Our success comes from our natural talent, just as it does on the squash court, and inspite of the administrators -- not because of them. There's no accountability, so nothing improves,'' the 1992 World Cup winning Pakistan captain told the 'Daily Telegraph' here.

The cricketer-turned-politician, who was once offered the post of Prime Minister by President Pervez Musharraf, said the death of his mother changed his life for the good and the cancer hospital that he built in her memory has been nothing short of a spiritual journey for him.

''It was a spiritual thing, the move to selflessness from materialism,'' he said.

Meanwhile, Imran, the only politician who tried to protest US President George W Bush's recent visit to Pakistan, was described as being ahead of his times by contemporary Rameez Raja.

''In 10 years maybe, he will be ready for the country and the country ready for him,'' Rameez told the daily.

Rameez said Imran, who once refused to take to the field when he was denied a team of his choice, was pretty straightforward in his handling of his Justice Party as well.

''This is much the way he runs the Justice Party,'' he said.
