Oscar likely to visit State

Kohima, Jul 17: Union Minister of State for Programme Implementation (Independent Charge) Oscar Fernandes is likely to visit Nagaland by the end of this current month.

According to Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) sources here today, the purpose of visit of Fernandes was not immediately known, but it was learned that he will arrive here after July 20.

The visit of Fernandes is important as he is heading the ministerial team for peace talks between the Centre and the NSCN-IM in Amsterdam and Bangkok and reportedly there were some development.

It may be mentioned here that the Minister visited Nagaland in October last and the political observers here of the opinion that during his second visit to the state, Fernandes was likely to interact with the state government officials and NGOs.
