No non-Hindus on tirumala
Tirupati, July 17 (UNI) Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) executive officer APVN Sarma today clarified that no non-Hindu families were living or working on the Tirumala hills, the abode of Lord Venkateswara.
Reacting to the fact finding committee report and a protest march takenout by the heads of various mutts in Tirupati, he said a door-door enquiry conducted at the Tirumala hills recently revealed that no non-Hindu was working or staying at Tirumala hills.
Asked about the fact finding committee report's claim that 40 non-Hindu families were living on the hills he denied the report and said he woud take action and shift to other areas any non-Hindu residing in Tirumala.
Mr Sarma said there was no truth in reports that the area under TTD's juurisdiction was reduced from seven to two hills.
The boundaries fixed by Britishers for Tirumala were continuing, he clarified.
