Monsoon active in the state, rains to continue

Kolkata, July 17 (UNI) After experiencing a full fledged monsoon in the last few days, Kolkata today woke up to a bright sunny morning.

Although rains in the past few days brought respite from the sweltering heat but the heavy downpour caused much harrassment as there was waterlogging in almost all parts of the city.

However, the humidity level has increased with relative humidity recorded at a maximum of 97 per cent.

According to the met department, rain and thundershowers are likely to occur in the next few hours as the active north westerly winds over Bay of Bengal are rushing towards the West Bengal.

Met office had further predicted that the monsoon is quite active in the state and it would rain regularly in the coming days.

The maximun temperature hovered around 32 degree Celsius and the minimum was 26.4 degree Celsius.
