Kumar Pradhan honoured with Kanchenjunga Kalam award

Gangtok, Jul 17 (UNI) Dr Kumar Pradhan, Editor of Nepali daily ''Sunachari'', was today honoured with the prestigious Kanchenjunga Kalam award for his contribution to the enrichment of Nepalese language.

Instituted by the Press Club of Sikkim, the award carries a cash prize of Rs 5,000, a momento and a citation.

The award is presented every year on July 17, the foundation day of the Press Club.

Gangtok MLA N.K.Pradhan presented the award to Dr Pradhan at a function, organised at the club here.

The club also felicitated Sandeep Choudhury, Publisher of Nepali daily ''Himalay Darpan'' on this occasion.
