Iraq says reaches deal with Australia over shooting

BAGHDAD, July 17 (Reuters) Iraq's trade minister said today he saw no barriers to trade with wheat supplier Australia after Canberra agreed to pay compensation to the family of one of his bodyguards shot dead by Australian troops.

Minister Abdul Falah al-Sudany had threatened to review trade ties with Australia over the affair.

''We have reached an agreement on compensation with Australia over the shooting incident. We don't have any vetoes on importing Australian wheat and we hope to go back to a normal relationship with Australia,'' he told a media briefing in Baghdad.
