'Honda Civic' launched in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, July 17: Barely-fifteen days after launching its global best seller 'Civic' model in India, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd (HSCIL), manufacturer of premium cars said it had already sold 2,500 units, mostly in the northern region.
Launching 'Honda-Civic' in Hyderabad today its National Head Sales Arvind Bhatnagar said the company targeted to sell 3,000 cars in Andhra Pradesh with a value of about Rs 300 crore.
Honda 'Civic' being manufactured at HSCI's Greater noida facility will initially be with 68 per cent localisation which will be increased to 80 per cent within the next two years. The Car will be sold through the Company's network of 51 authorised dealers initially even as it plans to ramp up the network to 66 by March 2007.
Leveraging the launch of 'Civic', the company targets to increase sales to Rs 3,500 crore during this fiscal as against Rs 2,500 crore in the last.
The company aims a 45 per cent growth along with increasing the dealership in the eastern region this year.
Currently about 40-44 per cent of its sales come from northern region and another 30-35 from the West. The southern region accounts for 20-25 per cent.
