Hizbollah tried to fire Iranian-made rocket at Israel

JERUSALEM, July 17 (Reuters) Lebanese Hizbollah guerrillas attempted to fire an Iranian-made missile with a range of 100 km (60 miles) at Israel but the rocket malfunctioned and fell from the sky, Israel radio reported today.

The radio station said the falling missile, described as a Zelzal, was the likely source of Lebanese reports that an Israeli aircraft had been hit and brought down over Lebanon.

Israel earlier said those reports were false.
