High Court seeks status report on expenses on NH

Patna, Jul 17 (UNI) Patna High Court today directed the Bihar government to file status report on utilisation of fund provided by the Centre within two weeks for maintenance of National Highways in the state.

Hearing a public interest litigation petition, a division of the court comprising Justice R N Prasad and Justice Madhvendra Sharan directed the government to file the status report.

Counsel of the petitioner informed the court that the Centre had provided Rs 14.47 crore and Rs 1.74 crore to the state government for maintenance of NH-104 and NH-77 respectively in 2002.

Earlier, a public interest petition was filed in the court alleging poor state of the concerned National Highways despite the requisite fund provided to the state government by the Centre.
