Heroin worth rs 3.4 seized

Pune, July 17 (UNI) Pune Rural Police seized 2.27 kgs of heroin worth Rs 3.4 crore from a hotel at Vadgaon-Maval near Pune yesterday.

Acting on a tip off, Pune Rural Superintendent of Police, Vishwas Nangare Patil laid a trap and arrested one Mustafa Ahmed Patel(42) who was supposed to sell the heroin in Mumbai. Police said Mustafa used a code to alert his accomplices about his arrest. He has been booked under the National Drug Psychotropic Substances(NDPS).

This is the second incident within a month as police seized heroin worth Rs 4 crore last month to be sold in the international market, Police informed.
