Heavy rains likely

Pune, July 17 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has been active in Orissa, east Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh.

Day temperatures were above normal in the parts of west Rajasthan, where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in.

Heavy rain are likely to occur at most places in Orissa,Jharkhand,east Madhya Pradesh,Chattisgarh,coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Gangetic West Bengal,Bihar,west Uttar Pradesh,west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha,Konkan and Goa,coastal Andhra Pradesh,Andman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya,Nagaland,Manipur,Mizoram,Tripura,Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana and interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at many places in Orissa.

Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu. Rain or thundershowes have occurred at most places in coastal Karnataka and at many places in Gangetic west Bengal and Jharkahand, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Kerala and at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Vidrbha, interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar islands and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan, west Bengal and Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Telangana. Mainly dry weather prevailed in west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Rjasthan, Gujarat region, Marathwada and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
