HDFC Bank launches facility to make online shopping safer

New Delhi, July 17 (UNI) HDFC Bank, a major private sector banks and a one-stop today launched Verified by Visa (VbV) in association with Visa international to make shopping online safer for its cardholders, by offering an extra level of protection.

It is also the first bank to offer this facility to its Debit Cardholders.

"We believe that facilities like VbV, and NetSafe, will be the engines that will help propel e-commerce from Indiaat a higher speed." said HDFC Bank Head, Retail Liabilities Chitra Pandeya.

The features offered are a completely secure way for on-line shopping using Visa Credit and Debit cards usable on all VbV enabled sites, user identification through a simple process during, online purchases through a personal assurance message, authenticity of the online store.
