Dry weather persists in HP
Shimla, July 17 (UNI) Dry weather continues to persist in Himachal Pradesh with several mid and lower hilly areas of the state receiving no rains for the third day today, the met office said.
Barring 58.5 mm of rain at Kahu in Bilaspur district, 35 mm at Pandoh in Mandi district, 12. mm of rain at Solang Nullah in Kullu district and 11.4 mm of rain at Bhang Manali during the last 24 hrs, while dry weather persisted in the remaining parts of the state.
Several mid and lower hills of the state had not received rains during the last 24 hrs, providing much needed relief from the wet conditions due to the monsoons.
The met office said Dharamshala in Kangra district has recorded the heaviest rainfall of 843 mm so far from June one to till date followed by 604 mm at Nagrota Surian, 473.2 mm at Nadaun in Hamirpur district and 439.5 mm at Guler in Kangra district of the state However, rain clouds were hovering over Shimla and its adjoining areas since this morning and the met office has predicted moderate to heavy showers in the evening.
Shimla recorded a night temperature of 17.3 degree, while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded lows of 24 and 20.6 degrees respectively.
