Devotees inflow to Amarnath reaches 2,21,258

Jammu, July 17: Around 1,678 pilgrims, including 414 women and 63 children, left from MM stadium here to holy Amarnath cave for darshan of 'Ice Shivlingam' this morning.

The fresh batches of 3,740 yatris, comprising 2530 males, 830 females, 260 sadhus and 120 children left from Pehalgam base camp while 2,471 yatris, comprising 2,005 males, 352 females, and 114 children departed from Baltal base camp . A batch of 154 yatris comprising 124 males, 22 females and 8 children has left this morning by air.

Meanwhile 2,21,258 pilgrims left for the holy cave of Amarnath shrine and out of them 2,08,066 performed darshan so far of the Ice Shivlingam, at holy caves of Himalaya since June 10 when Yatra was commenced, Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) sources said here today.

Talking to UNI over phone, official sources said, ''1,30,802 pilgrims left via Pehalgam route while 90,454 devotees departed through Baltal route for Amarnath cave till today.
