Create posts to fill vacancies: Apang
Itanagar, Jul 17 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang today suggested creation of necessary posts to fill up the shortage of police and civil officers of different grades in various parts of the state.
Addressing the combined conference of deputy commissioners (DCs) and superintendents of police (SPs) here he said necessary posts should be created soon and recruitment process made expeditiously so that no administrative centre and police centre remains without designated officers.
Referring to the problems arising out of transfer and postings of government officials, Mr Apang stressed on discouraging manipulation and pressure tactics in this regard.
Calling for evolving a rational transfer and posting policy with firmness in the common interest of a particular officer, the chief minister suggested creation of posts in various departments on the basis of actual required strength.
Lamenting largescale encroachment of government land, Mr Apang urged the concerned officers to contain it promptly and deal firmly with the illegal encroachers.
Pointing out that there were certain cases of gross irregularities in the public distribution system (PDS) on essential commodities, allotment of government land to people besides granting trading license and arm license, Mr Apang urged the DCs to keep an eye on unscrupulous elements and to tone up the existing system and plug the loopholes immediately.
