Court serves notice on DCP Traffic
New Delhi, July 17 (UNI) A city court today served a notice on DCP Traffic for violating court orders regarding impounding of commercial vehicles plying without licences.
Metropolitan Magistrate Ajay Pandey sought an explanation by August 2 from the DCP as to why action should not be taken against him under Section 187 of the IPC.
As per a Supreme Court direction, police were ordered to impound commercial vehicles plying without licence. A vehicle owner had managed to secure the release of his vehicle on ''superdari''.
However, when the police were asked to trace the vehicles on April 24, 2006 they could not do so.
On July 13, they filed a report in the court, saying they can not locate the vehicles.
