Commodore Ashokan takes over as Naval Academy chief

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 17 (UNI) Commodore T K Ashokan took over as the Director General of the Naval Academy (NAVAC) project, Ezhimala from Commodore Arun Nayyar.

Commodore Ashokan is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy(NDA), Khadakvasla and Defence Service Staff College(DSSC), Wellington, having specialised in Hydrography.

He has held various important appointments both ashore and afloat, an official release said.

He has commanded Indian Naval Ships Sarvekshak, Sandhayak and Nirupak, Group Commander Ernakulam NCC group and Commander, Project seabird, Karwar, the release added.
