CM reviews activities of AP Technology services
Hyderabad, July 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials to expedite the setting up of at least 2000 Rajiv Internet Village Centres by the end of 2006.
The Chief Minister reviewed the activities of AP Technology Services Limited (APTSL) and Commissionerate of Electronically Deliverable Services (eSeva) in his office today.
IT Secretary K Ratna Prabha, brought to his notice that the issue of tying OFC cables to APTRANSCO poles had been sorted out with AP Transco and the implementation of AP Broad band project was going ahead fast.
She also explained to the Chief Minister that while eSeva caters to the urban areas, RSDPs were meant for Mandals and Rajiv(Rajiv Internet Villages) was for rural areas.
Managing Director of APTS made a detailed presentation on the activities of APTS and various E-governance Projects handled by APTS such zas IRIS, Electronic Photo Identity Cards, High Security Number Plates for vehicles, G-G Swan, AP Broadband, AP State Wide Area Network.
He said APTSL was a self-sustaining organisation and during previous financial year (2005-06) the APTS achieved a record turnover of Rs 83 crore making a profit of Rs 3.79 crore.
Commissioner EDS P M Kuriakose presented the activities of the EDS on e-Seva, Rajiv, RSDP(AP Online) Parishkaram, programmes.
He said during the last one year 1687 EDS centres served 606 lakh citizens centric transactions (On an average 30 lakh transactions per month) such as payments of electricity bills, telephone bills and the volume of transactions was Rs 6168 crore.
The Chief Minister said all the delivery service channels undertaken through e-Seva, Rajiv, RSDP would be brought under one single programme.
