Bomb hoax delays Netravati Express
Kozhikode, July 17 (UNI) The Thiruvanthapuram-bound Netravati Express was delayed for about two hours following a bomb hoax call that prompted security agencies to undertake a through check-up on board the train at the Kozhikode Railway Station.
However, a detailed screening of all the compartments and railway track by the security team headed by Assisant Commissioner of Police (South) Jayachandran revealed the call to be a hoax.
According to Railway Police, the Information Centre at the station received a call in the morning that a bomb had been planted on the train originating from Kurla.
The anonymous caller also informed that the bomb would be detonated before the train reached at Kozhikode Station, the police said.
A similar drill was conducted on the train at Kannur Railway Station also.The train left the station at 1210 hrs after the checks, they added.
