BJ announces national working committee
Bhopal, July 17 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janshakti (BJ) today announced its national working committee and nominated former BJP leader Sangh Priya Gautam as the party's senior vice-president.
''The committee's first meeting, a two-day affair, will get under way at Allahabad on July 23 and discuss the country's economic and political perspective,'' BJ Founder President and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti said here.
The firebrand leader would address a rally after the meeting.
Mr Chandraraj Singhvi (Rajasthan) and Ms Asha Tandon (West Bengal) were nominated as vice-presidents, Mr Prahlad Patel (Madhya Pradesh) and Mr Ramesh Risedar (Maharashtra) general secretaries, while Ms Prabha Singh Lodhi, Ms Anita Singh (both from Uttar Pradesh) and Ms Sudha Sinha (Delhi) were nominated secretaries.
Fifty-two members and five central office-bearers were also nominated.
Mr Raghunandan Sharma (Madhya Pradesh), Mr Babu Ram Nishaad (Uttar Pradesh), Mr Umesh Mathur (Rajasthan), Mr Tapan Sikdar (West Bengal), Mr Arvind Dhali (Utkal region), Mr Venugopal Reddy (Telangana region), Mr Surya Narayan (Andhra Pradesh) and Mr Chandrakant Mahant (Assam) were nominated as regional presidents.
