Babbar alleges threat to judges by ruling SP
Lucknow, Jul 17: Firing a direct salvo at the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, Jan Morcha leader Raj Babbar today claimed there was an imminent danger to the life of many judges in the state from the party.
''I have definite information that SP may engineer attack on some of the judges, whom the party thinks are unfavourable to it and its leaders,'' the suspended SP MP told reporters here.
When asked to reveal his source of information about the sensational allegation, Mr Babbar said, ''It is the same source on the basis of which I had apprehended riots in Lucknow early this year.'' He said this information should be probed thoroughly asthe SP was full of ''criminal and goonda elements'' and they could attack anyone who did not work according to their designs. ''Of course, it is serious when I say that even the lives of judges are in danger,'' he maintained.
Going a step further, Mr Babbar said the Supreme Court should be requested to allow the tape of conversations of Amar Singh to be made public. ''There could be more revelations like this,'' he said.
The conversation in the phone tapping case were banned for public hearing by the apex court and Mr Babbar had handed over CDs of 23 hrs duration to UP Governor T V Rajeswar.
Charging SP with fomenting communal disharmony in UP and in the country, the Jan Dal president said SP was 'B' party of Bharatiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS).
