Ammonium nitrate, RDX used in 7/11 blasts: ATS
Mumbai, July 17 (UNI) K P Raghuvanshi, Joint Commissioner of Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS), today said that a mixture of ammonium nitrate and RDX was used in the serial blasts last on Tuesday.
Mr Raghuvanshi stated that only small traces from the blast site could be collected due to ongoing rescue operations and lack of time.
Meanwhile,the Hyderabad Forensic Laboratory and NSG are conducting their own examinations and their report is expected tomorrow.
Mr Raghuvanshi informed that an ATS team has left for Tripura to interrogate the eleven people detained by the police there while attempting to sneak into Bangladesh, in the aftermath of the Mumbai blasts.
He added that all the eleven people are residents of Mumbra in neigbouring Thane district in Maharahstra.
With no arrests yet, Raghuvanshi asserted that investigations were in full swing and all possibilities are being probed. When asked about the use of timer devices in the blasts, he did not rule out the possibility but added that investigations will lead to the truth.
