15 Mumbaikars to get scroll of honour from Prez

Mumbai, July 17: Fifteen eminent citizens of the city from different walks of life will be felicitated with a scroll of honour by President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam while inaugurating the 150th anniversary celebrations of Mumbai University tomorrow.

The citizens to be felicitated were chosen by a committee headed by Dr Raghunath Mashelkar.

They are Industrialist Mukesh Ambani, vocalist Kishori Amonkar, flute maestro Hariprasad Chaurasia, legal luminary V V Chandrachud, architect Charles Corea, retired bureaucrat B G Deshmukh, cartoonist R K Laxman, theatre personality Vijaya Mehta,educationist M S Gore, noted cardiologist B K Goyal, chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission Dr Anil Kakodkar, literateur Vinda Karandikar,former cricketer Ajit Wadekar, former Mumbai police commissioner Julio Rebeiro and Deepak Parekh of HDFC.

The inauguration of the 150th anniversary celebrations will be held on the University's Fort campus.
