Women judo coach claims NIS offical insulted her
Patiala, July 16 (UNI) Judo coach at the Netaji Subash National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), Rajbir Kaur today demanded that disciplinary proceedings should be intiated against NIS Assistant Director (Administration), Mangat Goyal for insulting her.
''He called me 'idiot, nonsense' which infuriated me and I reacted in a violent manner, but did not manhandle him,'' she claimed while talking to UNI here. She outrightly denied reports that she had beaten-up Mr Goyal in the NIS complex on July 13.
In her complaint note to the NIS Regional Director after the incident, Rajbir has stated, ''While I was crossing the office of the Deputy Director (Admn), Mr Goyal was coming out of his office. On seeing me, he said, you idiot and nonsense, where are you going.'' She alleged that Mr Goyal ''extended his arms towards her and tried to catch hold of her. I got suspicious of his wrong motive and resisted and pushed him back and saved myself.'' She claimed in her note that the watchman on duty near the Deputy Director's (Admn) office separated them.
Rajbir has demanded strict disciplinary action against Mr Goyal ''to save the honour and respect of a lady staff member.'' He (Mangat Goyal) had no right to use unparliamentary language and misbehave with a lady, she said in her note.
Mr Goyal on his part claimed that Rajbir manhandled him and has demanded disciplinary action against her.
