Water discharge reduced from Mettur Dam
Tiruchirapalli, July 16 (UNI) The water discharge from Stanley reservoir at Mettur across river Cauvery was reduced to 18,000 cusecs, since yesterday evening.
State PWD sources said the discharge was reduced to 18,000 cusecs from 20,000 cusecs.
Meanwhile, the water level in the dam stood at 103.710 feet this morning, against the full capacity of 120 feet.
The inflow was 12,056 cusecs.
From Grand Anicut in Thanjavur district, about 3,776 cusecs of water was released into river Cauvery, 8,530 cusecs into Vennar, 2,513 cusecs into the Grand Anaicut Canal and 1,703 cusecs into Coleroon river for irrigation purposes, under the turn system, the sources added.
