Unprecedented security at Kashi Vishwanath on first Shrwan Monday
Varanasi, July 16 (UNI) Unprecedented security arrangements have been made at the highly sensitive Kashi Vishwanath-Gynawapi complex here on the eve of first Monday of the holy month of Shrawan.
Senior Police Superintendent Ashutosh Pandey told mediapdersons that in the wake of recent Mumbai serial blasts and the March 7 last twin blasts in Varanasi, unprecedented security arrangements have been put in place at the complex and areas contiguous to it.
''Security at the Kashi-Vishwanath complex and that too during Shrawan has always been top priority for security personnel.
Unprecedented security including deployment of police, PAC, CRP and RAF personnel will be in place on the complex and the surrounding areas to serve the dual object of protecting the complex and devotees thronging it, besides eliminating any terror strike in a swift of operation,'' Mr Pandey added.
As many as 26 Shrawan police ouposts have also been set up around the complex, besides provision of PAC commandos in the complex, installation of CCTVs at all sensitive points and drafting of six bomb disposal cum dog squads, besides two tear gas squads and identical number of riot guns, the SSP added.
Traffic restrictions will also be enforced at all roads leading to the highly senstive complex.
