Stern action must be taken to crush terrorism : VHP
Jammu, July 16 (UNI) Demanding stern action to curb terrorism, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today wanrned that uncontrolled insurgents were attempting to transform Jammu and Kashmir into a 'hotbed' and 'breeding ground of Taliban'.
Talking to media persons J&K VHP chief Ramakant Dubey demanded immediate stop of the so called peace process and confidence building measures(CBMs) and initiation of very strong action to eliminate terrorism in the state.
''Weak and lukewarm policies both at the Centre as well as state has given much encouragement to anti-national forces which has resulted in a big spurt in terrorist activities throughout the country,'' he said.
The VHP leader said the incidents in Mumbai, Srinagar, Mendhar and Gulmarg show terrorist attacking tourists and business hub as in the early nineties.
President APJ Abdul Kalam should dismiss the UPA government and install a ''National Government'', with persons of the highest calibre, on party-less basis, so that the country is saved from terrorist dangers and militancy stamped out for ever, the VHP leader added.
He said the first batch of Budha Amarnath Yatra, consisting of yatris from all over the country, will leave on July 27 and culminate on August 8 with the last batch.
''Each day's batch will probably consist-around 1000 yatris. The purpose of such yatras is to enthuse a spirit of brotherhood among various communities. This particular yatra will act as a morale booster for scared miniscule Hindu in the areas and encouragement to security forces as well,'' he added.
