Seven houses gutted in fire

Pondicherry, July 16(UNI) As many as seven thatched huts were gutted in a fire at Vanarapet in Oupplam constituency in the early hours today.

Fire tenders from Pondicherry were pressed into service to put out the fire.

Electric short-circuit was suspected to be the cause for the fire.

The loss was estimated to be around Rs One lakh.
