SAD announces district level co-ordination committees

Chandigarh, July 16 (UNI) In order to have better co-ordination between Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and its alliance partner the BJP, SAD President Parkash Singh Badal today constituted 21 district level co-ordination committees of the party.

All senior leaders of the party has been assigned the task of co-ordination in their parent districts.

While announcing these committees here, Mr Badal said that these committees will regularly interact with the co-ordination committees to be announced by BJP.The committees would ensure that the workers of the two parties work with cohesiveness right up to grass root level, he added.

Each committee comprises the President of the district unit, local Member of Parliament and one or two senior leaders of the party's central body who belong to the district.

In view of the assembly elections in the state slated for early next year, the SAD and the BJP have already announced a nine member state level co-ordination committee.
