Restrain non-Hindu missionaries in Tirumala: VHP
Tiruchirapalli, Jul 16: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has urged the Andhra Pradesh government to curb the alleged activities of some Non-Hindu missionaries in the sacred hills of Tirumala.
Addressing a press conference here after chairing the state executive meeting of VHP last night, its international vice-president S Vedhantham said the government should ensure that no Non-Hindu propaganda or religious conversions took place here.
He also impressed upon the government to restrain the alleged propagation of other faiths in educational institutions, hospitals and in the temple premises. VHP would organise a nationwide protest in November, if the government failed to check it, he warned.
Pointing out that the report of the five member fact-finding committee constituted by His Holiness Vismuvesh Thirtha, Seer of Udupi Pejawar math, was shocking, Mr Vedhatham asked the government to take necessary action against proselytisation.
