Pressurise India, Pak to continue talks, CPI(M)

Srinagar, Jul 16: The Communist Party of India (M) today said the India and Pakistan peace process was again facing a trying situation because the Mumbai and Srinagar blasts.

The CPI (M) appeals to the people of the sub-continent to put pressure on their respective governments not to do any thing that may jeopardize the peace process.

Unfortunately, there are elements, in both the countries, who are out to scuttle the process on one or the other pretext, the CPI(M) said in a statement here.

It said the attacks in Mumbai and Srinagar, has caused mass anger and righteous indignation.

No words are sufficient to condemn such savage acts.

The statement said the CPI (M) understands there is no excuse, rationale or justification, whatsoever, for violence of any kind, which only serves ''vested interests, who have been opposing the peace process all along.'' The CPI (M) reiterates the path of dialogue adopted by the two countries is in the overall interests of the people of the sub-continent.
