POTA revival demand not justified: PC

Salem, Tamil Nadu, July 16 (UNI) Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram today said the demand by BJP and some other parties to revive POTA to deal with terrorist activities carried no conviction.

Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Chidambaram claimed the country had enough laws to deal with anti-national activities.

On allegations that online trading led to a spurt in gold prices, the Minister said he had asked the Reserve Bank of India to inquire into the matter.

The government will take action on receipt of the report from the RBI.
