Police received four calls of unclaimed bags

Mumbai, July 16 (UNI) City police today said they have received as many as four calls from citizens about unclaimed objects (suitcases) lying at four different places in the metropolis after yesterday's bomb hoax at Vile Parle station.

At a bout 1630 hrs, Powai police station had received a call that an unclaimed bag was laying at the State Bank of India (SBI) ATM (Any Time Money) kiosk at IIT, Powai in eastern suburbs.

Police rushed to the spot with a bomb disposal squad, whose members after opening the bag, found a set of keys which, it is believed, belonged to a duplicate key-maker.

The second call received by Vile Parle police station at 2022 hrs, the caller said an unclaimed bag was kept at bus stop near Sathe College. After a thorough search, they found an electrical cutter inside the bag.

Malad police station had received the third call at 2112 hrs stating that an unclaimed suitcase was lying at 'Inorbit Mall' off the Malad Link road. The search of the suitcase contents revealed nothing but old clothes in it.

Fourth call was received by Deonar police, in which the caller told them about an unclaimed bag lying in front of Deonar Post Office. When they rushed to the spot, they found nothing, police added.
