1 more Amarnath pilgrim dies, toll touches 35

Srinagar, Jul 16: An unidentified Sadhu died near the Amarnath cave shrine late last night, official sources said today.

They said his body was brought to Baltal base camp this morning.

With this, the toll since the commencement of the two-month-long pilgrimage to holy cave on June 11 has risen to 35.

About 1.25 lakh pilgrims from all over the country and abroad had darshan of the Shivlingam in the cave shrine despite threats from militants and the ''icelingam'' controversy. A majority of the pilgrims have since returned to their homes.
