Khurana for probe on Advani during NDA regime

New Delhi, Jul 16: Former BJP leader M L Khurana today met Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and handed over a letter addressed to the Prime Minister seeking a probe into the conduct of Mr L K Advani when he was the Union Home Minister during the NDA regime.

According to Mr Khurana, the Home Minister assured him that he would look into the matter written in the representation.

Mr Khurana had given the letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday.

Meanwhile, he said one of the suspects of the Mumbai serial blasts nabbed yesterday, was the driver of Romesh Sharma, the alleged right hand man of underworld don Abu Salem in the capital.

''In 1998-99, had the NDA government released a white paper on ISI activities, the Mumbia serial blasts could have been avoided,'' said Mr Khurana claimed.

A draft FIR could not be filed at the behest of Mr Advani as many of the BJP leaders had alleged links with Romesh Sharma, who is now in Tihar jail facing trial, he added.

According to reports, the Union Home Minister was taking seriously the charges made by Mr Khurana.
