Kerala Govt to come out with rules to regulate massage parlours
Kochi, July 16 (UNI) The Kerala Government will soon come out with a set of rules to regulate the mushrooming Ayurvedic massage parlours in the state, Health Minister P K Sreemathy has said.
Releasing the inaugural issue of a new publication on Ayurveda here yesterday, Ms Sreemathy said the government was conscious that some ''so-called'' Ayurvedic massage parlours were being used as a front for nefarious activities.
''The government will not tolerate such activities. Rules are being worked out to regulate the working of all Ayurvedic massage centres and it will be compulsory for all to adhere to them,'' she said.
The government proposes to classify all Ayurvedic centres on the basis of the services offered by them so that the authentic ancient science of healing does not get sullied by a bad name because of the increasing number of massage parlours which are 'Ayurvedic' centres in name only.
