Joshi moots Indian outlook to study of history
Bhopal, July 16 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi today said Indian history and archaeology-linked subjects ought to be studied from an Indian outlook.
''Such a study is related to maintaining the country's unity and culture,'' he said here at the first Dr Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar National Award ceremony. The honour was instituted by Madhya Pradesh's BJP government.
Alleging that the Aryans' foreign origin theory was propagated by those who wished to divide India, he added that modern research revealed that the Aryans were indigenous.
'' A study of the Genotypes makes it clear that northern and southern India's denizens are of common origin,'' he claimed.
Former deputy prime minister L K Advani bestowed the award on archaeologist Swaraj Prakash Gupta.
