Hizbollah won't disarm despite US demand: Iran
Tehran, Jul 16: Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei today said Hizbollah would not be disarmed despite calls from Israel and United States for the Iranian-backed group do so, state television reported.
''The American president says Hizbollah should be disarmed. It is obvious that you (America) want that, and it is obvious that the Zionists (Israel) what that too. But it will not happen,'' he said, adding that Hizbollah would not drop its weapons because the Lebanese people backed the group.
Iran says it offers moral but not military support to Hizbollah.
Tehran has denied Israeli accusations that its arms have been used in the latest conflict.
