Family urges govt to find missing son
Jalandhar, July 15: Emotionally charged atmosphere prevailed at the house of Sanjeev Kumar in Athhaula village in this district, following reports of his kidnapping alongwith other Indians, in Iraq.
His wife Sandeep Kaur and mother-in-law Daljit Kaur were inconsoleable and neighbours and village elders were trying to console them.
Ms Kaur speaking to reporters urged the government to seek official clarification about Sanjeev's location and ensure, through the Indian embassy, wellbeingness and safety of him and his accomplices.
She told Sanjeev had gone to Kuwait through a travel agent about 10 months ago and was later sent to Iraq for work by the Kuwait-based KGL Company.
The family had not received any communication from his son for the past 2-3 months.
Meanwhile, the Lok Bhalai Party had demanded immediate intervention from the government for safe release and repatriation of Sanjeev and other Indians.
